A customer submitted this suggestion: Just to let you know that there is a fairly easy way to change the default com port number when using the USB LocoBuffer. The default port in my setup was COM6. None of the older LocoNet utilities such as WinLok, LocoIO config, etc. can use that. They can only have com ports 1 - 4. PC users can go to control panel, system, hardware, device manager and then "ports COM and LTP". There they will find a port for LocoBuffer (comx) where x is the default com port number. They can right click on that and then choose properties, "port settings" then click "advanced" which will let them choose an unused port 1 - 4. A reboot is necessary to make the change take effect. Now setup the other things like DecoderPro, LocoIO, etc. to use the selected port. Works GREAT with DecoderPro - see RELATED PRODUCTS, below.
