When using these capacitors to store energy to keep your sound and loco running, select the largest value possible. Put one or more in parallel (observing polarity), if you have the room.

Mr. DCC recommends that you isolate the excess capacitance from the decoder as supplied by the vendor with a diode and resistor combination as shown in the DCC University. While this page talks about Tsunami decoders, the concept is the same for all. CLICK HERE

These capacitors are polarity sensitive. The banded side is negative.
