Often referred to as the "Whisker® version of the No.5®", the #148 has dethroned the classic #5 with an even longer-lasting and more reliable design. We took everything you loved about the No.5® and improved upon it. No more fumbling with centering springs. No more multi-piece assemblies. The Whisker® series of couplers is a true drop-in coupler. Use Kadee® Whisker® couplers in your next model and enjoy the most reliable and smooth coupling experience you've ever had. Always made right here in the USA with legendary Made In America quality. The #148 is interchangeable with the No.5®, #28, #58, #118, #119, #158, and most manufacturer's Medium Centerset OEM knuckle couplers. For a #38 equivalent use the #148 in a #252 Gearbox. #148 is also a direct replacement for most Bachmann On30 couplers. Supersedes product #140. Package Includes:

#508 HO Scale AHM Rivarossi 4 wheel Coupler Conversion Bolsters 1pr. Kit Passenger cars can be equipped with truck mounted couplers using the correct conversion bolster attachment. Truck mounted couplers permit closer coupling on radii down to 18" without causing binding for most passenger cars. Non-Magnetic trucks should be used with Kadee® Magne-Matic® Couplers. Wheels should be changed on AHM and Athearn trucks. Use Kadee® #521 or #522 non-magnetic wheels. Each kit contains a pair of Draft Gear Boxes, one pair of NO.5®Couplers, #634 Centering Springs, screws, special bolsters and instructions.

The #705 Metal Coupler will work anywhere a #713 or #714 Coupler will work. This industry leading coupler features an all metal coupler head, shank, and centering spring and comes assembled complete with and insulated draft gearbox and lid. The #705 Metal Coupler may be body mounted on any flat surface; HOn3-Scale locomotives or rolling stock. It is not recommended to use a metal coupler directly on a metal surface or in a metal draft gearbox to avoid possible electrical crossover and shorting that may cause damage. Fully Assembled - Not Recommended to be Disassembled. Also adaptable to TT-Scale

This industry leading coupler features plastic standard coupler with metal knuckle, and #621 torsion centering spring and comes complete with #233 insulated draft gearbox and lid. The #38 Magne-Matic® Metal Coupler is designed mostly for body mounting with limited space either above or below the mounting platform, with or without Draft Gear Box Lid and with Draft Gearbox Lid either on top or bottom. Note: The 30-Series Torsion Spring can be mounted either below or above the coupler shank, but must always be mounted between the Coupler Spring Lid and Draft Gearbox. The 148 Whisker® Metal Coupler mounted in a #252 Snap-together Gearbox is equivalent to the #38 Coupler. The Whisker® Coupler mounted in a #252 Snap-together Gear box makes for simple and easy assembly. Other Whisker® Coupler #38 equivalent options include #158 Whisker® "Scale" Metal Coupler, #118 "SF" Shelf Whisker® Metal Coupler, and #119 "SE" Shelf Whisker® Metal Coupler when mounted a #252 Snap-together Gearbox.
