Two Loudspeakers 16mm, oval, 8 Ohms, 1~2W with common sound chamber LokSound V4.0, LokSound micro V4.0 and LokSound V4.0 M4 decoders need the new speaker with an impendance of 4 Ohms. With the present 100 Ohms loudspeakers you would hardly hear anything.

This round metal speaker in a square plastic framee holds a round HIGH BASS speaker. Its specifications are:

• Size
  • 40 x 14.5 mm deep
  • 1.57 x 0.58 inches deep
  • The cone may come as much as 1 mm (or 0.04 inches) in front of the front of the speaker. Make allowances when mounting.
• Impedance is 8 ohms
• Power rating is 2 watts operating 4 watts maximum
• Sound Pressure Level is NOT SPECIFIED
• Frequency response is from 240 Hz to 20 KHz.

This round speaker fits many of the Atlas locos that were designed for sound - they usually use a pair! If you are using two of these speakers together, they need to be in series and in phase. What means is that the red wire on one speaker connects to the black wire on the other speaker - yes you can shorten them. Make sure this connection is insulated, we recommend 1/16 inch shrink tubing for the task. Then you connect the remaining red and black wires to the decoder. The SP-30R-08 specifications are:

• Power rating is 0.2 watts - no need for a resistor with 1 watt decoders
